Antonia Fendt is a research associate at Mainz University Library in the KOSTIMA research project and a doctoral candidate at the Institute of Ethnology and African Studies. In her research, she uses cognitive and structural linguistic methods to examine Lingala-language music from the Archives for African Music (AMA) with respect to hidden political messages in song lyrics from the Mobutu era.
