Mengjie Zhang is a musicologist and music educator. She is a research associate at the European Centre for Jewish Music at the University of Music, Drama and Media Hanover in the KOSTIMA research project and a doctoral candidate at the Research Centre for Music and Gender at HMTMH. In Subproject 2, she thoroughly explores the legacy of Peter Ury and examines his biography and compositions within the context of displacement, flight, exile, rehabilitation, the emotional boundaries of the intellectual, political dissidence, and cultural belonging.
